Can I book tours at your hostel?
Unfortunately, we no longer operate a tour booking service, however, our experienced and knowledgeable staff is more than happy to offer advice and help you plan your adventure in Australia.
Can I store some luggage at your hostel?
We offer on-site luggage storage facilities perfect for when you want to travel light, just leave your bags with us! Daytime storage and long term luggage is free for guests.
How can I get there from the airport?
There are a few options for getting to and from the airport to Britannia on William:
The public bus, Route 380, departs from the Terminal 1 and 2 (international), and Route 40 departs from Terminal 3 and 4 (domestic). They will drop you off at the corner of St Georges Terrace and William Street (Stop 10088), and from there it’s a short 15-minute walk to the hotel. A 2 Zone cash fare will cost $4.80, and the journey will take around 45 minutes.
Taxis and Uber are the easiest mode of transport for those who prefer a door to door service, prices range from $35-$45 from both terminals, and will take around 30 min.

How can I get to Fremantle?
Fremantle is south of Perth city, you can either catch a train or a ferry to Freo. The train costs less than $5 each way and the ferry less than $20 and offers a scenic trip down the Swan River.
How do I get to the beach from Britannia?
Walk down our street – William St towards Perth city centre to reach the stations.
From Perth bus port (2-minute walk) the 990 network will take you to Scarborough the most pristine beach Perth has to offer. From the same station, the 82 service takes you to City Beach – believed to be the centre of all healing. The fare is $4.80 each way.
From the Perth station (3-minute walk) the Fremantle line can take you to Cottesloe & Leighton Beach in North Fremantle. Both lovely beaches with lifeguards. All journeys will take just over 30 minutes each way.
How far is Perth city from Britannia on William?
Perth City Centre is a 5-minute walk from the hostel.
Is King’s Park worth a visit?
Yes, definitely. Kings Park is a must for every backpacker and tourist visiting Perth. The beautiful panoramic views of the Swan River and the city are worth the trip. Stroll through the botanic gardens, enjoy a coffee and soak up the view! At night the gum trees are lit up and create a very romantic ambience while the city lights glitter in the background.
Is Rottnest Island worth a visit?
Surely! There are regular ferries departing from Barrack St Jetty to Rottnest Island. The best way to move around the island is to either rent a bicycle or hop on the Sunseeker bus. There are plenty of activities on the island, we highly recommend snorkelling and visiting many gorgeous beaches for a swim. The native marsupials, the quokka, are very friendly, welcoming and cute!
What time is Check-in and Check-out?
You can check-in at any time as we are open 24 hours, however, rooms are available from 12 pm onwards the day of your booking. To ensure enough turn around time, check-out is 10 am.
How is the Check-In procedure?
The procedure for the Check-In is really easy, even if you don’t have a booking yet. Just walk to the front desk, and our staff will be there for you even at night time as we are open 24/7. The receptionist will ask you for your passport and to fill in the Check-In form.
Why do you ask for my passport as proof of my identity?
We require a passport as the only identification form so we can ensure a pleasant environment for all our guests. Remember, a backpackers for backpackers.
